Many people receive referrals for medical weight loss from their primary care physicians. I highly recommend confirming with your primary care provider if you are a suitable candidate or we will be happy to assist in obtaining labs for you to see if you would benefit from medical weight loss.
Yes. We recommended having labs done within six months. These can be sent from your primary care provider or we will be happy to send an order for you to obtain. These labs include but not limited to: CBC, CMP, lipids, A1c, fasting insulin, thyroid panel, B12, Vitamin D. These tests provide valuable insights into your overall health and help us make informed decisions about your treatment plan.
We accept credit, debit cards, HSA and FSA cards. We do not bill insurance but can provide a superbill. You are welcome to submit statements, receipts and invoices to your insurance for payment BUT we do not advocate, communicate, mediate or respond to insurance requests for information or records as this is extremely timely and increases the overall costs of care. We are not credentialed and are not a preferred provider with any insurance plan.
Each panel measures a variety of biomarkers that includes:

CBC with white blood cell differentiation
CBC (Complete Blood Count) with white blood cell differentiation reports on the number and types of cells in your blood. It also measures the different types of white blood cells, which contribute to immune health, and hemoglobin, a protein that carries oxygen throughout the body.

Comprehensive Metabolic Panel
The metabolic panel specifically analyzes different biomarkers including liver, kidney and gallbladder functions.

Lipid Panel
The lipid panel measures the amount of cholesterol and triglycerides in your blood. These are important for determining heart disease risk. Weight directly influences the amount of cholesterol your body produces, so it’s vital to analyze this when performing weight loss tests.

Thyroid Panel (including TSH)
Our thyroid panel includes Free T3, Free T4 and TSH. These are the key markers to assess when monitoring thyroid functions.

Insulin
Insulin is a hormone that allows glucose in the blood to enter the cells, providing them with the energy they need to function and insulin resistance can lead to high blood sugar. Low insulin may be a sign of a health condition, like diabetes.

A1c
The A1C test is a blood test that provides information about your average levels of blood glucose, also called blood sugar, over the past 3 months. The A1C test can be used to diagnose type 2 diabetes and prediabetes.

B12
Vitamin B12 has a role in the metabolism of energy derived from meals, and it can assist to enhance energy levels. This, in turn, can lead to increased physical activity, which in turn can contribute to weight reduction.

Vitamin D
The main function of vitamin D is to aid in the absorption of calcium during bone formation. Maintaining adequate levels of vitamin D supports healthy bones. In addition, vitamin D has anti-inflammatory and other properties that play a role in maintaining normal muscle, immune, and nervous system functions. It is thought that obese and overweight people have lower levels of vitamin D because the nutrient is stored in fat deposits.
